Nasty Fancy

I’m not a huge fan of avant-garde metalheads iwrestledabearonce, but the band has been in headlines lately since they’re former singer, Krysta Cameron, has been replaced by Courtney LaPlante while Cameron is out of commission on maternal leave. IWABO has pushed through the entire 2012 Warped Tour with LaPlante in tow to mixed reviews, but this fall’s Ruining Earth for Everybody Tour, headlined by IWABO, will put the budding female screamer back to the test of finding her place in the band.

Perhaps most notably, at least to this metal fan, are some of the groups touring with IWABO, including Within the Ruins, Oceano and Vanna. I’ve loved every single track American metal/ deathcore bands Oceano and WTR have put out, so I’m stoked to see them perform together. Oceano were rumored to break up earlier this year as they experienced their own frontman issues when Adam Warren split, but apparently a new face has stepped in to fill the void, so I’m interested to see how he fits in with the band’s punishing sound. Within the Ruins, on the other hand, has their shit together, exemplifying some of the most premium tech-metal skills in the scene today and are show to put on a face-melting show.

All bands on the Ruining Earth for Everybody Tour include iwrestledabearonce, Vanna, Within the Ruins, Oceano, Plot for You and Surrounded by Monsters. The full list of dates is below, but the tour invades Peabody’s in Cleveland on Oct. 21, so save the date!
