Rock Hall Summer in the City 2012 Kicks Off Next Week
Say what you will about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and it’s choice of inductees, it’s vibe, whatever…but their annual summer concert series is nothing to balk at. Previous years have seen some Nasty Fancy favorites, including Gil Mantera’s Party Dream, Thaddeus Greene and New Bomb Turks. This year, they’re continuing on in this fashion with a killer lineup. And it’s free! How can you beat that?
We just wanted to remind you that a killer show is coming up this Wednesday to kick off the summer right: Cloud Nothings and Herzog.
If you read the blog or pay attention to the music scene in Cleveland at all, you should know who Cloud Nothings are. If you don’t, get it together, man. Check out the video for “Wasted Days,” performed live at the Grog Shop, below.
Cloud Nothings playing a free show in their home town, that will attract a good crowd. So it’s a good thing the opening act, Herzog, deserve all the attention they can get. You may recognize a couple of the guys from Megachurch, but Herzog goes in another direction — some fast, gritty power pop. They’ve drawn comparisons to Paul McCartney and Weezer (you know, before Rivers lost his mind when Pinkerton failed to sell well).
The show starts at 7:00 right outside the Rock Hall. It’s FREE, so you don’t have any excuse. At least half of the Nasty Fancy crew will be there, so come say hi.
