Kent Blues Fest returns July 20 & 21
The fourth-annual Kent Blues Fest is almost upon us, just one month away, and promising another Friday chock-full of incredible blues acts, in addition to Southside Johnny & The Ashbury Dukes headlining an already sold-out Kent Stage show the next day. Free blues friday is set for June 21, leading off with Blue Lunch in the newly finished Acorn Alley Plaza, and wraps up with several bands playing late into the night. Southside Johnny plays the only show June 22, and good luck getting into that.
But, even if you can’t get into that coveted Kent Stage show, don’t sweat it. Twenty-four noteworthy local blues acts are taking over 16 spots, all within walking distance of each other in Kent on Friday, including The Numbers Band, Mike Lenz, Austin Walkin’ Cane, Ian Penter, Bob Niederriter Trio and much, MUCH more.
Be sure to check out the Blues Fest’s official website for the full schedule and locations.
Many of last years acts are back again, so if you want a taste of what’s in store, be sure to check out our recap of last year’s event.
