Guided By Voices coming to the Grog Shop
Recently reunited Dayton indie rock legends Guided By Voices are making a trip to The Grog Shop this fall.
If you’re not familiar, Guided By Voices broke up in 2004 after a solid 20 years and an impressive 16 albums, including the classic Bee Thousand. In 2010, the band reunited to play Matador Records’ 21st Anniversary celebration, and announced a tour. Then came a new, well-reviewed record, Let’s Go Eat the Factory, released in January of 2012.
The reunion has faltered a little bit along the way — the band cancelled several shows at the end of 2011, and rumors of another breakup spread. However, if there were differences they seem to have gotten over them, going back on tour and even announcing TWO new albums — Class Clown Spots a UFO on June 12, 2012, and Bears for Lunch, being released sometime near the end of the year. Let’s hope the band sticks together until then.
Guided By Voices will be at The Grog Shop on Friday, September 14.
