Feb. 9 Song of the Day: Jeff Bujak live

I’m now on day five of vacation in the beautiful Adirondack mountains of upstate New York. It’s Winter Carnival week in Saranac Lake, which means nothing but boozing and live music every night.

There’s been a decent variety of music too. This mountain town’s music genre of choice is jam, but there’s been a decent dose of bluegrass, funk and electronic music to experience as well.

While at The Waterhole Tuesday night, I had the chance to be awed by Jeff Bujak, an IDM wizard from Northampton, Massachusetts. It was absolutely nuts watching this guy perform, jumping from groove to groove, dipping into different sounds, then cranking up the intensity.

Although it isn’t a complete song (it’d be hard to bring that to you because he played endlessly) I’ve got a mobile phone video to share with you. In this little clip, Buj is playing with more buttons and knobs than keys, but at other points of the show, he was hitting the keys pretty hard.

If you dig, he’s got a bunch of tunes for free on his website.
