Gorillaz to release greatest hits album

Here comes a post NOT about Steve Jobs. But in his honor, it will be about music, duh, one of the many things Jobs revolutionized. If it weren’t for Jobs, many of these electronic bands would have a harder time producing their music. Think about it–how many DJs don’t have a MacBook sitting next to their decks these days? Gorillaz, which this particular post is about, composed and recorded their last album, The Fall, entirely on an iPad.
Moving right along, Gorillaz has decided to do something I know I have been waiting for: Release a greatest hits album. It will be called Gorillaz: The Singles Collection 2001-2011. Ironically for this post, no tracks from The Fall found there way onto the greatest hits collection, but then again, I think there’s a good reason. The album will contain singles, videos and some remixes too, from the entire career of Damon Albarn’s animated group. So on Nov. 29, you can go pick up this bad boy in the U.S., and just for shits and giggles, if there is anyone reading this blog in the UK, the album comes out a day earlier there.
The Singles Collection: 2001-2011 will include 15 tracks, and will come in many forms. This means you can cop this album via CD, CD/DVD and vinyl. A limited edition 7″ box set will also be released. Below is a list of the tracks. As a longtime fan of the Gorillaz, I have to say I’m fairly satisfied with the choice of tracks, but I love so many. I do wish, however, that they would have included a track off the D-Sides album. There are some really awesome remixes on there!
